For the third installment of of 'The Designer High' mix series I decided to try something fresh. I feel this set (more so than the last two) is very up-to-date, maybe its because it starts and ends with a D.A.N.C.E remix. Its hard to pin down one sound. I suppose you could call this an electro set, but elements of hip hop, retro, disco, pop, and rock are all rightfully present. It seems that kids today don't want just one genre per set, they want it all.
2ManyDJs realized this a long time ago, and now the thin division lines separating the genres are being destroyed. The genre-crossing thing has been going on for some time and its very a la mode to throw in other elements of dance music into your sets, the indie kids love that new shit. The hardcore deep/prog/soul/funky/lame househeads will claim that you aren't playing "real" house music. But you can give them the finger and tell them to catch Digweed next week in Shanghai, he'll sound exactly the same as he did 10 years ago. But then again he gets real fuckin' paid.

Next time I'll make an Ableton Live mix just for the haters.
